CENTRAL PROCESSING TECHNICIAN
Central Processing Technicians are healthcare professionals who use specialized training in aseptic technique to ensure a sterilized environment for medical personnel and patients. Their primary responsibility is infection control which includes cleaning, testing, assembling, adjusting, packaging and sterilizing reusable medical supplies, instruments and equipment. Technicians must be able to interact effectively with employees throughout the medical facility, primarily the surgical team.
The certification course consists of 10 individual chapter tests and one final exam. For each chapter, you will be presented with study materials which include a PowerPoint presentation, PowerPoint outline, medical terminology, chapter review and, if applicable, additional information relevant to the chapter.
CPTTS prepares students for entry level employment as a Level 1 Technician and for the National Certification Exam. This is a twelve (12) week course designed to deliver the knowledge and qualifications you need to excel in the field. Working in hospitals, surgical centers, clinics, or doctorsí offices, Central Processing Technicians play a crucial role in medical facilities. This program also serves as a refresher course for existing technicians.
Classes are also offered in a classroom setting locally in the Sacramento, California area. for more information contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
